I Think the Trees Are Mad at Us!
Last year, trees and soil were almost unable to perform one of their important duties that help keep our world cool: absorbing carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a gas that accumulates in the air and warms our planet. Normally, trees and soil absorb this gas and clean our air. However, due to issues such as climate change, global warming, forest fires, and drought, they have been unable to fulfill this duty.
Droughts, in particular, leave the soil without water, preventing plants and trees from growing adequately. Forest fires not only destroy trees but also release more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Last year, as nature’s ability to maintain this balance weakened, more carbon dioxide accumulated in the air, accelerating global warming.
But here’s the good news: We can change this situation by protecting our environment! Planting trees, preserving forests, using water efficiently, and being mindful of our surroundings can help nature regain its strength and resume its duty of absorbing carbon dioxide. Each small contribution we make to nature can create a big impact. We must all take action together to keep our planet cooler and more livable!
