Back Draw

Number of Players: At least 2

Materials Needed: Paper, Pencil

Game Duration: 30 - 45 minutes

The Game

early childhood activities

Before the game begins, participants are divided into pairs. In each pair, one student turns their back while the other places a piece of paper on it. The teacher asks the whole group a question at the same time. Questions should be personal but fun, such as “What is your favorite animal?”, “How many siblings do you have?”, “What is your lucky number?”, or “What is your favorite food?”.

Without the student knowing, the partner writes or draws the answer on the paper. The writing should be large enough to read and not pressed too hard with the pencil. Then the student with their back turned tries to guess the answer by feeling the movements of the pencil. If they guess correctly, they get applause or a small point; if not, the partner reads the answer aloud.

After each question, roles are switched so that both students have the chance to write and to guess. Throughout the game, students should remain quiet and avoid giving hints to each other.

The game continues until all the questions are finished or the teacher stops the activity.
