Do Not Clap

Do Not Clap

Before the game begins, students stand side by side in an open area, forming a large circle. Then, one person is chosen as “it” and given a ball.

The role of the person who is “it” is to bounce the ball on the ground or pretend to bounce it. The students in the circle must clap their hands only once, and only when the ball actually touches the ground.

When the ball hits the ground, all players clap once at the same time. The person who is “it” may change the tempo of the game by bouncing the ball slowly or quickly, making it more challenging and testing the students’ attention.

If the person who is “it” pretends to bounce the ball but does not actually release it, the students must not clap. Any player who claps by mistake is out of the game, and the game continues with the remaining students in the circle.

This game helps develop students’ attention, focus, and impulse control skills. At the same time, it supports their ability to work in a group, respond at the right moment, and make quick decisions.
