Flying Words
A fun game that develops vocabulary, supports quick thinking skills, and strengthens communication abilities. It should be played outdoors. For this game, you will need an object such as a ball or balloon that students can throw to each other.
Objective of the Activity
To improve vocabulary,
To enhance quick thinking skills,
To strengthen communication and listening skills.
The Game
Children stand in a circle outdoors. The teacher or leader says a word (for example: “sea”) and throws the ball they are holding to a child in the circle.
The child who catches the ball says another word related to the given word (for example: “fish”) and throws the ball to someone else. The next person also says a word related to the original word (for example: “seaweed”).
If a player cannot answer within 5 seconds, the “flying word” falls to the ground and the round starts over.

Rules:
Each player must answer within 5 seconds after catching the ball.
The answer must be related to the main word.
The ball must be thrown carefully and safely.
Attention!
The chosen main words should be appropriate for the children’s age level.
Care should be taken to throw the ball safely during the game to ensure no one gets injured.
