Sleeping Lion
Play Area: Schoolyard or an open space
Requirements: None
Game Duration: Can be extended as desired.
The Game
This game is played in a spacious open area, with players divided into two groups sitting opposite each other at a set distance. In the middle, one player takes on the role of the “sleeping lion.”
When the game leader blows the whistle, the game begins, and players try to reach their teammates on the opposite side without waking the sleeping lion. Players must move very slowly and quietly, walking on their tiptoes and avoiding getting too close to the lion. If the lion hears a noise or detects movement, they can catch the player. Any player caught is eliminated from the game.
After a set amount of time, the game leader assigns the lion role to another player. The lion who catches the most players becomes the winner of the game. This activity is a fun way to enhance quiet movement, focus, and strategic thinking skills.
