Spider Web

Number of Players: 5 - 20

Materials Needed: A ball of yarn

Game Duration: 5 - 15 minutes

Game

The group forms a circle altogether, with one person holding a ball of yarn. They introduce themselves by stating their name, age, and where they are from. Then, while holding onto the end of the yarn, they toss the ball across to the next person in the circle, aiming ideally to the opposite side but not too close.

Now, the next person who catches the yarn does the same by introducing themselves with their name, age, and origin, then passing the yarn to another person. The game continues in this manner. When each member of the group has held the yarn and introduced themselves once, the game is completed. This creates a wide "spider web" result where everyone gets to know each other a little better and feels more connected.

The type of information shared can vary depending on how well the facilitator knows the specific group; more personal questions can be given (dreams, goals, hobbies, family, etc.), or before handing over the yarn, the person holding it can mention the most admired quality of the person to whom they're passing it. The game can be continued with different topics.
