Who Is My Match?

Who Is My Match?

Number of Players: 6 - 20

Requirements: Paper, Pencil, Adhesive Tape.

Game Duration: 30 - 45 minutes

The Game

Before the game begins, the facilitator writes pairs of complementary words (for example: ship and sea, milk and honey, sail and wind) on separate pieces of paper. These papers are taped to the participants’ backs, and the participants do not know which word is on their own back.

Participants walk around the room freely and try to guess their word by asking others closed-ended questions (that can only be answered with yes/no). For example: “Am I edible?”, “Can I be found in nature?”, “Am I sweet?”

Once a participant correctly guesses their word, they must find the partner whose word matches theirs. The paired participants then stand side by side and ask each other both open-ended and closed-ended questions to learn 3 new things about one another. This helps break the ice and creates a warm environment for communication.

The game ends once all pairs have found each other and shared a little about themselves. At the end, participants can briefly share what they learned with the whole group to strengthen interaction.
