Mysterious Greens on Mars

NASA's robot Perseverance found something interesting on Mars! While digging on the surface of the big red planet, it noticed strange green spots on a rock. On Earth, these kinds of green spots usually appear due to tiny microbes or chemical reactions related to water. But there’s still no certain information on how these spots formed on Mars!

The rock Perseverance examined looks like a colorful painting made of white, black, and dark green colors. Those dark green spots, in particular, grabbed scientists' attention! Maybe there was water on Mars once upon a time, who knows?

But more information is needed to understand whether these spots come from microbes or Mars's mineral-rich structure. NASA scientists plan to do more research to solve this mystery.
